SURVEY RESULTS: Water Use Outside

Three questions were asked about water use outside.

• One question asked a series of outside water-related activities to find out how often respondents did them (Every time / Often / Sometimes / Almost Never or Never / Not Applicable).
• Another question asked about specific outside water technologies that respondents may or may not use.
• A third question asked about specific gardening/landscaping techniques.

Summary of Water Use Outside

• Brisbane respondents more often always used water conservation measures outside.
• In technologies used outside, the biggest differences were seen in rain barrel use and xeriscaping with greater participation in Brisbane.
• In caring for the garden and landscaping, there were fewer differences between what Cary residents and what Brisbane did.
